Meet the Team
-
Dr. Victor Yang - President
Dr. Yang co-founded NVS and is a neurosurgeon, biomedical engineer, and entrepreneur with a track record of developing cutting-edge medical technologies. He previously co-founded 7D Surgical, a company that revolutionized image-guided surgery with machine vision-based navigation, leading to its successful acquisition. His research focuses on real-time intraoperative imaging, vascular biomaterials, and minimally invasive interventions, integrating optical, ultrasound, and robotic-assisted technologies. Yang holds an MD and Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto and is a professor and practicing neurosurgeon, driving innovation at the intersection of medical imaging, biomaterials, and endovascular therapies.
-
Dr. Konrad Walus - CSO
Dr. Walus co-founded NVS and is a leading expert in materials science, microfabrication, and bioengineering. His research spans advanced biomaterials, soft matter physics, and 3D bioprinting, contributing to next-generation vascular biomaterials and medical devices. He is also a co-founder of Aspect Biosystems, a global leader in bioprinting and tissue engineering. With a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of British Columbia, where he is a professor, Walus continues to develop innovative biomaterials and fabrication technologies that push the boundaries of regenerative medicine and minimally invasive therapies.
-
Yuta Dobashi - CTO
Dobashi co-founded NVS and serves as its Chief Technology Officer. With a strong interdisciplinary background in electrical and biomedical engineering, he pioneered photomodulated hydrogel extrusion technology early in his doctoral studies, laying the foundation for NVS’s core innovations. Over the past decade, his research has focused on advanced hydrogels and smart materials for applications in biomedicine, robotics, and energy storage. He holds an M.ASc. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of British Columbia (2016) and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Medical Sciences at the University of Toronto.
